David's Well

Juan Bio

David’s Well has been blessed with strong leadership through Juan Rodríguez, his wife Ydalia and their daughter Yolanda (currently a university student in the Dominican Republic).  Juan became a Christian in his native land of the Dominican Republic where he planted numerous congregations and preached in others.  In view of the fact that Juan was one of the top preachers and evangelists in his country, he was sent as a missionary to Central America in 1987.

Since arriving in Panama, Juan has given tireless effort to expanding God’s Kingdom throughout Latin America.  Currently he oversees work in both Panama and Costa Rica.  He has trained evangelists who work in a number of other countries as well.  There are now more than 130 congregations with fifty some trained evangelists.  Thousands of people have been brought to know the Lord Jesus Christ.

Through the ministry of David’s Well, Juan has helped to develop an extensive work of meeting the physical needs of Indian populations in both Panama and Costa Rica.  During 2005 more than 9,000 people received medical treatment through the bi-monthly medical trips of volunteer doctors and nurses.  An additional 12,000 patients were treated in the medical clinics that have been built by the mission.  Approximately 65 aqueducts have been constructed to bring clean drinking water to Indian villages.  Educational needs are also being addressed through schools, boarding houses for high school and college students.  Indian young people are being trained professionally to minister in education and medicine.

Many leaders have served alongside Juan and here are a few of their thoughts:

“One of the most unbelievably good evangelists I’ve spent time with on the mission field”  - Tim Coop Sr. Pastor, Pantano Christian Church, Tucson, AZ.

“An unexpected blessing from God, a fruit producing Evangelist.”  - Tim Brock, Sr. Pastor, White River Christina Church, Noblesville, IN.

“I never cease to be amazed by his hard work, his love for the Lord, his relationships with the people.” – Todd Hudson, Sr. Pastor, Southeast Christian Church, Parker City, CO.

“I have known Juan since 1992 when I became aware of his preaching and above all his evangelistic mission among the most far flung and humble Indian villages in which there have been the conversion of many souls who have been brought to the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  - Dr. Harry Xatruch, Medical Director in David, Panama.
